FRIED DUMPLINGS
INGREDIENTS
- 8 oz Plain flour
- 1½ tsp Baking powder
- ½ oz margarine
- Cold water
- Oil for frying
METHOD
- Sift the flour and baking powder together.
- Rub in the margarine until well blended.
- Gradually add cold water to the mixture the ingredients to make a stiff dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
- Divide the mixture, shape into balls and flatten slightly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a heavy frying pan and fry the dumplings until golden brown on both sides.
Serves approx. 8
